Nov. 12. “It is important to keep proficient at basic soldier skills,” said Adams, of Pittsburgh, speaking of the training.

Chief Warrant Officer Bryan Beard, an armament repair technician, 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, inserts a rod down the M-16 barrel of 2nd Lt. Gina Rhodes, executive officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 316th ESC, to ensure it is clear of rounds as she exits the firing range at Camp Dawson Nov. 21. Rhodes, of Pittsburgh, was one of many soldiers participating in marksmanship qualification training. “This training prepares them for going into theatre,” said Beard, of Draper, Va.
Sgt. John Howe, an intelligence analyst, G-2, 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, distributes ammunition to soldiers as they prepare to qualify for M-16 marksmanship training at Camp Dawson, W. Va. Nov. 21. “I make sure the zero and qualification range moves quickly and efficiently and make sure all soldiers that pass through qualify or better,” said Howe, a Chicago native. He tracked which soldiers were trained and kept accountability of the ammunition.
